Home Comforts Power Onduparaka Past Catda

ARUA – Thursday, 8 January 2026

West Nile giants Onduparaka Football Club continued their impressive home form after edging Catda FC 1–0 in a tightly contested FUFA Big League encounter played at Ababet Greenlight Stadium in Onduparaka, Arua City.

The decisive moment of the match arrived in the 66th minute when in-form forward Ade Brian struck the winner, sending the home fans into celebration and sealing three vital points for the Caterpillars. Ade’s goal underlined his fine run of form, as he once again proved to be the difference-maker for Onduparaka in crucial moments.

The victory marked Onduparaka’s second successive home win of the season, following an emphatic 5–2 triumph over Mbale Heroes at the same venue. The strong performances at Ababet Greenlight Stadium are beginning to pay dividends as the club steadily climbs the league standings.

With the win over Catda FC, Onduparaka FC moved up to 12th position on the FUFA Big League table with 17 points as they leave the relegation zone after a while, accumulating six points from the last three matches—a promising return as the season gains momentum.

Catda FC, on the other hand, left Arua visibly frustrated after missing out on at least a point. The visitors had hoped to strengthen their push for a mid-table finish but were left disappointed after failing to find a breakthrough against a disciplined Onduparaka defense.

Attention now shifts to Onduparaka’s next assignment, as they prepare to travel to Kasese District to face Bunyaruguru United in one of their remaining fixtures aimed at winding up the first phase of the FUFA Big League campaign. With confidence growing and home form solidified, the Caterpillars will be eager to extend their resurgence on the road.
