Former Northern Gateway SC midfielder Oscar Nyanga has taken his career beyond Uganda after completing a move to South Sudanese top-flight side Koryom FC, this outlet can exclusively report.

Nyanga’s international switch comes shortly after his suspension and exit from Lira City–based Northern Gateway SC, where he was among five players released as part of a major squad clear-out. The others shown the exit door were Daniel Oming (aka Koyeng), Daniel Opio, Bernard Ogwang, and Moses Olila.
The midfielder now joins a growing list of former Northern Gateway SC players plying their trade in South Sudan. Rafael Ogwal, another ex-Gateway player, also made the move earlier and is currently turning out for Wajuma SC. Ogwal plays alongside familiar faces, including former Northern Gateway SC striker Christopher Kirya.
Kirya remains one of the most talked-about forwards in the South Sudanese league. Last season, while at Koryom FC, he finished as the top scorer in the South Sudanese top flight, firing in an outstanding 24 goals, before sealing a move to Wajuma FC at the start of the current campaign.
Nyanga has already been thrown into competitive action by his new club. He made his debut on Tuesday, 27th January 2026, as Koryom FC faced Olympic FC at the Juba National Stadium. Despite his involvement, Koryom FC suffered a 2–0 defeat on the day.

The midfielder has signed a one-year contract with Koryom FC, viewing the move as a fresh start and an opportunity to re-establish himself at top-flight level.
Nyanga’s transfer further highlights South Sudan’s league as an increasingly attractive destination for players seeking international exposure, with former Northern Gateway SC talents continuing to leave their mark across the border.
