Six Home Wins and Counting: Blacks Power Face Soltilo Bright Stars

FUFA Big League table leaders Blacks Power return to home soil this afternoon as they host Soltilo Bright Stars at the Ebenezer University Ground in Lira City, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00pm.

‎The Lira-based side currently sits top of the standings with 22 points from 12 matches and boasts an impeccable home record this season, having won all six of their games played at Ebenezer University Ground. Blacks Power will be keen to extend that dominance as they look to bounce back from a narrow 1–0 away defeat to Bunyaruguru United suffered in Kasese in their previous outing.

‎While their home form has been flawless, Blacks Power have found life difficult on the road, registering four draws and two losses. Much of their home success has been inspired by forward Rajab Fazil, the club’s leading scorer with four goals — all of which have come at Ebenezer University Ground — underlining his lethal presence in front of the home fans.

‎Speaking ahead of the encounter, Blacks Power head coach Michael Lukyamuzi “Skills” expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness.

‎“We’re prepared to fight. Siwu is back and most likely to start. Baker (Buyala) got injured in training, his toe bone is kinda disturbed. We have no other injury concerns, though we had a few knocks here and there,” Lukyamuzi said.

‎He also rallied the supporters to once again play their part.

‎“To the fans, they have to come and cheer up the boys like they’ve always done. We are going to fight for maximum points,” he added.

‎Visitors Soltilo Bright Stars arrived in Lira after completing their final training session in Kampala before embarking on the over 300-kilometre journey north, arriving in the city at around 8:00pm. The Stars come into the match on the back of a goalless home draw against Paidha Black Angels.

‎Soltilo currently sit eighth on the table with 16 points from 11 games, having recorded three wins, seven draws, and just one defeat — a record that highlights their resilience and ability to grind out results.
